GST Tax Invoice or Bill of Supply, HSN codes filled automatically, thermal and PDF printing, WhatsApp sharing, and a POS that keeps billing even when the internet doesn’t. Optical billing software made for opticians, not adapted for them.

14-day free trial · no credit card · from ₹499/month

GST done right — or no GST at all

Registered shops get a GST Tax Invoice with HSN on every line — CGST/SGST in state, or IGST when you mark the bill inter-state. Composition and unregistered shops get a clean Bill of Supply with no tax artifacts anywhere. Tax is always calculated after discount, rounded to the paisa.

Every print format an optician actually uses

Thermal 80mm and 58mm receipts for the counter, A4 and A5 PDF invoices for the file — with your logo, the frame photo, and a scan-to-view QR. Share the PDF on WhatsApp in one tap.

Billing that never stops

Power cut? Internet down? The POS keeps working offline and syncs every invoice automatically when the connection returns. F2 to search, Enter to complete — a bill in seconds.

Split payments and credit, handled

Cash, UPI, card, part-cash-part-UPI splits, and customer credit with balances tracked per customer. Advance payments on job orders show Advance Paid and Balance Due on the invoice itself.

Prescriptions attached to every sale

SPH, CYL, AXIS, ADD, PD — validated as you type, stored per customer, printed with the job order. Family members can share one mobile number and still keep separate prescriptions and history.

One quota that respects your growth

Your invoice counter is momentum, not a meter running out. Starter includes 150 invoices a month and unused ones carry forward; when your shop is on fire, top-ups are a tap away.

A sale at the counter, start to finish

Most optical bills are a frame, a pair of lenses and a prescription, often for a customer who has been in before. This is what that looks like at the counter.

  1. 1

Find the customer by mobile number

Type the number and the customer comes up with their prescriptions and past bills. A family sharing one phone shows as separate people, each with their own history — or add a new customer in a few seconds.

  2. 2

    Add the frame

Scan its barcode or press F2 and search by brand, model or colour. The frame photo comes with it, and the HSN code and GST rate are already set on the product.

  3. 3

    Add the lenses

Pick them from your lens catalogue or from stock held by power. If the lens is held in your SPH×CYL grid, that power cell is the one that is sold.

  4. 4

    Attach the prescription

Choose a saved prescription or enter a new one — SPH, CYL, AXIS, ADD and PD are checked as you type — and it is linked to the invoice and the job order.

  5. 5

    Apply a discount, if any

On a line or on the whole bill. Tax is recalculated on the amount after discount. On Growth and Pro, loyalty points can be redeemed here as an ordinary discount, so the GST stays right.

  6. 6

    Take the payment and complete

Cash, UPI, card, a split between them, or credit for the balance. Enter completes the sale with the same checks as the Complete button, then print a thermal receipt or an A4/A5 PDF, or send the PDF on WhatsApp.

Stock that moves with every bill

Every sale takes the frame and the lenses out of stock as it completes. When the owner corrects a bill the stock moves to match the corrected lines, and a voided bill can put its items straight back on the shelf, so the count on the shelf and the count on the screen stay the same. Lenses held by power are tracked per SPH×CYL cell, and the cell and the product’s total move together. Frames carry photos, SKUs and barcodes, and you can print barcode and price label sheets for a new delivery the same afternoon. Adding a frame that already exists — same brand, model, colour, size and material — brings up the existing one instead of creating a duplicate. The low-stock, dead-stock and stock-valuation reports read the same numbers. More on this in frame inventory management for optical shops.

After the sale: credit, edits and voids

A bill with a balance is a receivable, not a lost sale. The balance shows on the invoice and on the customer, and when they come back to collect their spectacles you add the payment in a couple of taps. Mistakes happen: the owner can correct an invoice and the stock and payments follow, or void it — the number stays, marked cancelled, so your series has no gaps, and one tick puts the items back in stock. Cashiers can add payments to a bill but cannot change it, which keeps the day’s cash honest. Our guide to optical shop billing mistakes covers the errors that cost shops money and how to avoid them.

GST reports your CA can use

GST-registered shops get a GSTR-1 HSN summary, a B2B and B2C split, an outward supplies worksheet and a list of cancelled invoices, each downloadable for your CA. Every shop gets sales, cash collection, payment mix, discounts given and outstanding dues, plus customer, stock, workshop and staff reports. A shop that is not GST-registered never sees the GST ones. If you are setting up your invoice format for the first time, read the GST invoice format for optical shops.

The right access for each person

The owner sees everything. A cashier bills, takes payments and can look up prescriptions and stock. An optometrist works on prescriptions, inventory staff on stock, and the lab sees the prescriptions it needs for job orders. Reports, settings and your LensVerge plan stay with the owner.

How the GST math works — to the paisa

A ₹3,500 frame, 5% discount, 12% GST, sold within your state:

Subtotal₹3,500.00
Discount 5%−₹175.00
Taxable amount₹3,325.00
CGST 6%₹199.50
SGST 6%₹199.50
Grand total₹3,724.00

Tax on the discounted amount: CGST/SGST in state, or IGST on a bill you mark inter-state. Full rate reference in our GST & HSN guide for optical shops.

More than billing

The same account takes eye-test bookings on WhatsApp and on your own booking page — see WhatsApp appointment booking. Shops across India use the same product; the city pages cover the GST state code and what shops in each city need. Plans start at ₹499 a month — see pricing, or browse all our guides for optical shops.

Frequently asked questions

Does the billing software handle GST for optical shops?

Yes. A counter sale bills CGST and SGST at half the rate each; tick “Inter-state sale” while billing and the same invoice prints IGST at the full rate. Either way the tax is computed on the amount after discount. Registered shops print a GST Tax Invoice with HSN codes and GSTIN; composition or unregistered shops print a Bill of Supply with no tax rows — the shop’s GST mode switches that, not the invoice.

Which HSN codes does it use for frames and lenses?

HSN codes are filled automatically: 9003 for spectacle frames, 9004 for sunglasses, 9001 for lenses and contact lenses (12% GST), 4202 for cases and 3402 for cleaning solutions (18%), 9987 for repair services. You never type an HSN by hand.

Can I print on my thermal printer?

Yes — 80mm and 58mm thermal receipts, plus A4 and A5 PDF invoices with your logo and even a photo of the frame you sold. Every invoice carries a QR code your customer can scan to view it online, and an optional Google Review QR.

Does billing work without internet?

Yes. The POS keeps billing when your connection drops — invoices queue on the device and sync automatically the moment you are back online, with a clear Synced/Offline indicator in the top bar.

What does it cost?

Starter is ₹499/month for 150 invoices a month (unused invoices carry forward). Growth at ₹999/month is unlimited. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial — no credit card needed.

Can I edit or cancel an invoice after it is printed?

The owner can edit an invoice — the stock and the payments are adjusted to match — or void it. A voided invoice keeps its number and its record, marked cancelled, and its items can go straight back into stock with one tick. GST-registered shops see it in the cancelled-invoices report. A cashier can add a payment to an existing bill but cannot change it.

Can a customer pay part now and the rest later?

Yes. Take what they pay now by cash, UPI or card and leave the rest on credit: the balance shows on the invoice and against the customer, and you record the rest when they pay. The Outstanding dues report lists everyone who owes you.

Can my staff bill without seeing my reports?

Yes. Give them the cashier role: they bill and take payments, while reports, settings and your LensVerge plan stay with the owner. There are separate roles for an optometrist, inventory staff and the lab.

Do I need a GST number to use it?

No. Choose your GST mode when you set up the shop: a shop that is not registered, or is under the composition scheme, prints a Bill of Supply with no GST rows; a registered shop prints a GST Tax Invoice with HSN codes.
